π Introducing “Born in Book Club” π
Exploring firsthand stories:
Growing in cults, high Control environments & unconventional societies.
Each month, βBorn in Book Clubβ will delve into a new memoir, autobiography, or firsthand narrative. We will start with books written by those closest to home; women who were born into Scientology. From there we can explore other cults and high control groups, or stick with the Scientology trend, depending on what the community is feeling.
Immerse yourself in the voices of those who have emerged from the shadows of their pasts to embrace a brighter future.
We’ll have weekly updates, chats and talk with the authors, and special insights into growing up in Scientology, our creative processes, and professional journeys.
In many ways, this is not just a book club; itβs a voyage into the depths of human resilience and the power of storytelling.
π Unveil Hidden Realities:
First-hand accounts take you behind closed doors and into the lives of individuals who grew up in secretive, isolated communities. Explore their courage in escaping, healing, and rebuilding their lives.
π Dive into Diverse Perspectives:
Each month I will be reading & breaking down a memoir of someone born into Scientology. We’ll be starting with “Bad Cadet” by Katherine Spallino, then “Beyond Belief” by Jenna Miscavige and my book, “Confessions of an Ex-Scientologist Pothead” by Liz Gale.
Immerse yourself in the voices of those who have emerged from the shadows of their pasts to embrace a brighter future.
𧑠Empathy and Connection:
Through thought-provoking discussions, lets strive to foster empathy and understanding. The vision is to create a safe online community for sharing, learning, and supporting one another on this unique literary journey.
